After days of working long hours packing & shipping orders for Bear Dance Crafts and Woolhalla and making custom dolls and dollhouse dolls… I was burning out. Whoa! Time to take a time out and rejuvenate. And what a perfect day for it. It was snowing in the mountains a little higher than we live (there’s lots of mountains around us), the clouds were socked in and in town it was pouring. This is one of the best kind of days to go to Ainsworth Hot Springs, which is close by. DH and I went and sat in the warm and hot pools while cold rain kerplunked heavily around us. There was maybe 15 or so people there, which leaves plenty of room for floating around and relaxing. Ainsworth is know for its ‘caves’ which you can go in and get toasty. Ahhh… what a good soak! Here’s an Ainsworth promo pic, as I left my camera at home. Wish I could share the magical rainyness, but maybe next time :o)

Autumn Starfish: Felt Inspiration
Inspired after posting my starfish photo I just had to make some Autumn Starfish out of orangey Wool Felt. And here they are!
Free Pattern Starfish Template so YOU can make some too!
To make some wool felt starfish cut out 2 of the above free pattern without a seam allowance (I have posted the pattern full size so just print as-is). Blanket stitch around and fill with a small handful of wool stuffing.
I have made my starfish with matching felt in orangey autumn tones, but of course starfish come in many other colours. They could be embellished too… fancy stitches, sequins, whatever you can dream up. I have left my starfish simple.
Here is another view of them:
Autumn Starfish
Drawn in by oranges, reds and browns of the changing foliage I am sharing a little snap of starfish. No they aren’t leaves, they don’t even grow on trees, but they do come in rich tones of orange! Something a little different to celebrate autumn.
