This week for Yarn Along, which is weekly knitting & reading check-in on the Small Things Blog, I have finished the hat I posted about last week! Now when I ski down a hill (X-country, I wear a helmet for downhill) I won’t have a hat that slides over my eyes while I flail about trying to control my skiis!
While I am still reading Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell… I found a copy of “The Art of Racing in the Rain” by Garth Stein. It practically begged me like a dog after a piece of bacon to come home with me… and before I knew it I was reading it, all of it! A page here, a page there… I couldn’t stop! It’s the story of a dog on his last days of life and he recounts his life with his owner who wants to be a professional race car driver. If you have dogs or like dogs then I wouldn’t hesitate to read this book. Make sure you have a box of kleenex at your side… you’ll need it! Having said that, I will also say that the book deals with some mature issues, not sure I would let a non-adult read it.
