Today on the NaturalKids Team blog I posted a craft tutorial that is to make caterpillars: http://natural-kids.blogspot.com/

Caterpillars…
Deer Gardens
No, no, not Beer Gardens, lol! My life can be pretty crazy hectic (hence my lack of regular posts!)… and while I used to aspire to the phrase ‘gardener‘ I eventually had to let it go. Let’s face it, it’s just not right to put myself up there with people who plan their gardens, tend, water & weed them, do all that gardener-speak when bumping into another fellow gardener, harvest them, and so on. I am more like the following:
I go out in my garden and say “hey, lookie there… there’s some greens still growing”. The deer that keeps coming back hoping to nibble my freshly planted lettuce and broccoli starters is probably thinking the same thing. Technically the deer is Evil Enemy #1 in my town among gardeners… but when I look out the window and see a deer eating their way through my yard somehow I can set aside the feeling of ownership of the land and share some of the bounty. There is bounty and lots of it I am happy to say… and I’ll try not to be upset if the deer eat my broccoli babies I promise 😮
Round 3 is here! “On the Farm”
Go check out Project Dolly Play, Round 3 – On the Farm album
at: https://www.facebook.com/galsanddolls and VOTE!
You can “like” a max. of 3 photos as your favorites, which are your votes.
Here is my entry this round, a little scene with dollhouse dolls and animals:
I hope that if you have a moment you will drop by the Gals and Dolls page to see the wonderful creative talent… and also to VOTE!!
Each week the least votes are eliminated and the rest move to the next round. It’s kinda sad, but there you go… it wouldn’t be a competition otherwise!
It’s been kinda too busy!
Like the post title suggests… it’s been busy. I won’t bore you with the details! I will leave you with a photo though of a recent visit to see some goats and hope to have more soon:
Project Dolly Play Round 1!
Gals and Dolls on Facebook is having an exciting event: https://www.facebook.com/galsanddolls .
My entry is “Lolli”, a waldorf-inspired doll. She stands about 30 cm / 12 inches tall. Her colourful hair was hand-felted by me and and she holds a wool lollipop for the “Candy” theme of Round 1. I hope that if you have a moment you will drop by the Gals and Dolls page to see the wonderful creative talent… and also to VOTE!!
Almost there…
Please excuse my absence… I haven’t been well and am scrambling to keep up and catch up. Hopefully back on track by the end of the week 😮
Little Bunny Pin
Little Bunny Pin! Here is a tutorial to make your own little bunny pin. It looks great on a hat or jacket, or even on a spring bulb plant in the house (as you may notice below…). This one was made with a face drawn on, but if the thought of embroidering on the face doesn’t frighten you then go-for-it, and maybe even add whiskers!
To make the Bunny Pink you will need a small piece of wool felt (8 x 8 cm/ 3-1/4 x 3-1/4 inches) in whatever colour you would like your bunny, plus matching thread, pinback, bit of wool to stuff, and a marker for the face (unless you are embroidering). Please remember that the pinbacks are sharp, do not attach to bunnies for young children!
Print out the template below (right click your mouse on the image to print):
Cut out two matching felt bunnies:
Sew a pinback on one piece. Draw the face on the other piece, as shown below, or embroider it on:
Put your two pieces together; pinback on the back and face on the front. Sew around the two pieces and stuff little bits of wool stuffing into the bunny as you go:
Your little bunny pin is now ready to wear (or decorate your plants!).
Happy sewing!!
Spring Break
How about just a plain ole break? I’ve been working way too much! I am hereby officially giving myself a break, which isn’t a mai-tai’s-on-the-beach-without-my-kids sort of thing, but still… it will be some kind of break. If I don’t post for a while it’s because I am on a break. I think you get the idea, lol!
Spring Flower Dolls
It may not exactly be spring here, but these dolls keep popping up in my imagination (and creative fingers) and are just listed in my Etsy shop as of today: www.woolhalla.etsy.com They were a delight to make, I love making dollhouse dolls, and hope that they inspire spring for you too!
Craft Spaced?
Each week I wanted to do ‘taming of the craft stuff’ post, after being inspired by the Linky box way of connecting to others. I am still waiting to hear how I can stop spam from being entered in my Linky box… so today I am going to do my 15 mins of craft de-clutter, but give myself a break from the embarassing photo of it! Instead here is a pic of a doll I made for a giveaway that is coming up, details to follow when they are made public info!!!
