Craft Spaced: Buntings Out of the Bag

Velour Bunting Babies look pretty cute~ don’t they?  Well read on… because they have a way of getting into things!

Looks Can be Deceiving!!

Welcome to Craft Spaced!  Taming my craft stuff on Mondays here, hope you’ll join me!  If your Mondays are like mine you might not get here until Tuesday.  I’m cool with Tuesdays too.  I chose the name ‘spaced’ because my craft space is ‘disoriented’!   Your version of unorganised may be a messy thread box… or it could start looking like a contender for professional help~ it’s the craft stuff that sits there looking at you and you want to start dealing with it!

Small steps.  I’m talking 15 minutes of bonafide effort to take care of something to do with craft stuff.  What kind of craft stuff?  ANY!!

Please join me! Please note: due to spam I am not using the Linky Box until I find out how to avoid Linky spam, sorry!  You can put your link in the comments or post a comment about you getting your craft space cleaned up!  Or, leave a comment about mine!  It can be any craft.  Clean it up, toss it out, move it to the compost bin, sort it out… you know, get organised!  Join the weekly check-in where we can see & share & be inspired… or share a virtual kleenex.

Bunting Babies on the move!

This week:  Buntings Out of the Bag… that’s right, O-U-T!  Somehow these adorable little dolls have taken up space in my portable bag for dollhouse doll supplies, the place I keep doll bases, paint brushes, a variety of small pieces of doll knit fabric, etc.  Time for a little decluttering in my handy-dandy Vivid Allon bag.  I LOVE this bag, I’d buy more, but that would just add to my problem!

Yarn Along

Each week Ginny has Yarn Along on her blog: “~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Take a single photo and share it either on your blog or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us! “

~Yarn Along~

This is what I started on this week… multi-colour (rainbow-y) merino Minnesota mitts, which are mitts that have fingers plus a hood to cover them for extra warmth.  The pattern is in Folk Mittens, a book I’ve had for over a decade and keep coming back to.  Though, with spring approaching I might take a short-cut and only make them into fingerless mitts 😮

The novel I was reading was Fool by Christopher Moore.  Warning!  This book is kinda raunchy!!  There is even a bit of a disclaimer in the beginner warning readers of the potentially offensive material inside.  I inter-library loaned it after listening to an audiobook by the same author.  Though sometimes it goes a bit far for me, I have to say that I don’t think any other author could have pulled off a bit about Shakespeare and Dr. Seuss in the same line and had me laughing.

Customer Doll Photos Make My Day!

Here are some cuties from a very talented customer.  They are so adorable, aren’t they?  I love it when I can post pics of other peoples creations~ or have a chance to see what others are making.  It makes me want to drop everything and run (not walk) immediately to my doll projects and get going.  Thank You for the photos!!

Little Rainbow Man

Little Rainbow Man is a bit of a heart thief… I think he may have stolen more than one heart too, because he definitely stole mine!!

Below are some babies to adore:

Aren't they just the sweetest? All 3 of them!!

And here’s another darling:

hat and book!

This week for Yarn Along, which is weekly knitting & reading check-in on the Small Things Blog, I have finished the hat I posted about last week!  Now when I ski down a hill (X-country, I wear a helmet for downhill) I won’t have a hat that slides over my eyes while I flail about trying to control my skiis!

While I am still reading Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell… I found a copy of “The Art of Racing in the Rain” by Garth Stein It practically begged me like a dog after a piece of bacon to come home with me… and before I knew it I was reading it, all of it!  A page here, a page there… I couldn’t stop!  It’s the story of a dog on his last days of life and he recounts his life with his owner who wants to be a professional race car driver.  If you have dogs or like dogs then I wouldn’t hesitate to read this book.   Make sure you have a box of kleenex at your side… you’ll need it!  Having said that, I will also say that the book deals with some mature issues, not sure I would let a non-adult read it.

Yarning Along!

This week for Yarn Along I haven’t read much in my book… I am still on Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell.  But I did start a hat for myself in Manos Del Uraguay wool… I LOVE all the wool by this company :o)

Yarn Along

Legwarmers in doll size!  This is my size of a project, lol.  A couple of nights ago I was putting the finishing touches on a 16″ doll for my shop and decided to knit a little pair of light pink alpaca legwarmers.  I have lots of alpaca yarn, it is so soft and lovely to knit and wear.  Below is a pic of what they look like on the doll, plus the book I’m reading “Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell”.  Never heard of it?  Well, neither had I when I found it in Packrat Annie’s used bookshop & it’s turning out to be a great read.
Visit the Yarn Along on Small Things where there is a whole list of others doing the Yarn Along!
