Deer under the Apple Tree

Looking for windfall apples from my old and ailing Gravenstein apple tree is a lovely white-tailed deer.  Usually the deer get the windfalls and some of the apples on the lower branches and then as they ripen it’s a bit of a race between us and the bears getting ready for hibernation.  Here’s a pic of a doe that comes by :

Lantern Parade

Just thought I would drop in a pic of a kit I offer by Atelier Pippilotta… I love this little kit and it’s available on either www.beardancecrafts.com or www.beardancecrafts.etsy.com .  Soon more stuff from me… after I injured myself this summer, and it being summer and all, I have been rather busy.  Now that my children are older we don’t seem to make it to any of the lantern parades anymore, but that doesn’t mean I can’t have one on my autumn season table… here’s the Chinese Lantern Parade Kit pic:

Back from getaway!

I’ve been on vacation!  It was wonderful to spend time with my hubbie and 3 kids & I am feeling very inspired and have a big new pile of gorgeous fabric~ YIPPEE.  Back to catching up on emails and orders and other stuff for now :o)

Strawberries

Strawberries… mmm… fresh from the garden or wild, they’re all good!  This summer I am hoping to transform my season table into a strawberry land.  Above is a picture of a strawberry doll that will  join the yet-to-be-made strawberry themed dolls I’ve been working on.  We’ll see where I get with it all…

Beautiful Deer Family

These darling fallow deer are made with wool felt and stuffed with wool.   This deer family is so super cute~ to state the obvious!

She’s Got Huge Tracts of… Wool Felt

While I was looking at my pile of wool felt (partly pictured below) I was reminded of the ‘huge tracts of land’  joke from a Monty Python film.  I am often asked if I carry larger pieces of wool felt and the answer is most definately YES.  Huge tracts as it were!   Wool felt is amazing and wonderful to work with and incidentally so are the people who order it for their projects!!  Over 75 colours now!! http://www.beardancecrafts.com/wool_felt.htm

Spring Yard

Every spring we let the yard go wild in the back, especially around the playhouse, where a patch of poppies grow.  They are so airy and blow and bend with the spring winds.  And the colour!!  It is amazing…  I can feel a poppy doll or two coming on!! 
Above is a poppy budding and below one that is out.

Here is a shot of the playhouse we built for the kids a few years ago.  The kids helped build it too, with hand split shakes and the whole nine yards.  It has a little tower inside, a trap door in the floor and a slide.  The wysteria is just starting to bloom which hides the playhouse a little and gives it shade in the summer.

Pippi Longstocking

It seems to be taking a coons age to finish and list the kits, but here is a sneak peek at Pippi Longstocking from Atelier Pippilotta that I have translated.  Pippi is one of those endearing storybook characters that both children and adults adore, not to mention dress up as at Halloween!
